Keep Indianapolis Beautiful: Indy Tilth

I knew it was going to be a fantastic morning when I arrived at the Indy Tilth Project for Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB).  Not only was it sunny and warm, but there was happiness all around.  And dogs.  And kids eager to plant trees.  And breakfast served on a card table covered with a pretty table cloth next to a cheerful yellow tent.  And a VW Beetle to boot!  I smiled big.  I knew this would be a fun group and it was!  There was a true sense of community present that morning.  Laughter and conversation amidst digging holes and spreading mulch.  The kids, wide eyed with curiosity and angling for wheelbarrows, worked hard and rewarded themselves by playing King of the Mulch Pile.  We talked about the importance of planting trees for generations yet to come.  We spoke of community and rebuilding neighborhoods.  On that morning, I noticed the beauty of connection....

  1. Been meaning to tell you for days that I love what you've been doing with the community project photos. Indy is a great town that should be showcased more often, and your photos are definitely showing the potential that the city has to offer. Love seeing all the people pull together to create something beautiful for their community.
