Keep Indianapolis Beautiful :: Great Indy Cleanup

More than 300 volunteers came together for Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and the Great Indy Cleanup 2012!  Despite the rain, there were lots of smiles and energy that morning.  It was a good day and, as always, I feel so fortunate to be part of it!  KIB is constantly working to improve our city.  Visit their FB page and give them some love!!  click here

2011 Lilly Global Day of Service

Eight thousand volunteers from Eli Lilly & Company gathered together with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) and 30 community partner organizations on October 6th to complete 46 projects that promote health and wellness throughout the near eastside, near westside, Lafayette Square Area, and Massachusetts Avenue.  In addition to this, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful was joined by the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee as they planted the 2012th tree of the "2012 by 2012" tree planting initiative.  The 2012th tree, planted at Pogue's Run Art and Nature Park, was also the 30,000 tree planted by KIB in the NeighborWoods Program, which has a goal of planting 100,000 trees in Indianapolis by 2017.

I was truly honored and humbled to be a part of this day.
This is community...
This is belief in a better tomorrow...
This is making a difference...
This is pouring your heart into something larger than yourself...

And a little celebration at the end of the day...
